A Fresno businessman who is charged with child pornography possession and sexual exploitation of child pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

Todd Mumma, owner of Select Business Systems, was arrested by Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives in early May after they served a search warrant at his home in the Copper River Country Club area of northwest Fresno.

Detectives found numerous hidden cameras and electronic storage devices that contained dozens of pornographic images of children. Detectives allege Mumma installed the secret cameras in bedrooms and bathrooms throughout his house, allowing him to secretly record people in his home.

Detectives also searched his company, Select Business Systems, a technology solutions provider, and found a device in Mumma’s office that contained a hidden camera. No other cameras were found inside the workplace.

Mumma appeared in court Tuesday via the app Zoom. Prosecutor Dennis Versoza requested an increase in his bail to $71,000 but was denied by Judge Houry A. Sanderson.

The judge did, however, issue a criminal protective order against one of Mumma’s alleged victims, preventing him from contacting them.

Defense attorney Dan Bacon is representing Mumma. Prosecutors allege Mumma surreptitiously videotaped an under-aged person and created still photographs from the videos.

During the execution of the search warrant at Mumma’s home, detectives also found an illegal assault rifle which allegedly belonged to him.

He is charged with one felony count of possession of child pornography, a misdemeanor count of sexual exploitation of a child and one felony count of possession of an assault weapon.

If convicted of all charges, Mumma faces a maximum prison sentence of four years and eight months. He is currently free on a $40,000 bond.
