Teen dies after falling 50 feet in Three Rivers ravine, sheriff says

An 18-year-old man died at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno early Saturday after falling 50 feet down a ravine in Three Rivers, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The sheriff’s office reported Friday night their search and rescue team needed assistance from the Lemoore Naval Air Station to attempt to hoist the teen via helicopter from the ravine. In an update Saturday morning, the sheriff’s office said the man was rescued just after midnight.

He was flown to the hospital and later died from his injuries at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

“Our hearts go out to his family and friends,” sheriff’s officials said in a Facebook post. “Please keep them in your prayers.”
