Fresno County libraries are reopening partially. Here are the services available
Fresno County public libraries will partially reopen Monday and provide limited services.
The libraries won’t be open to the public, but patrons can begin placing holds by phone, checking out material and obtaining printouts through mobile printing options.
Only library staff will be allowed inside the buildings, and services may vary by location.
“The Fresno County Public Library appreciates our community’s patience and understanding as we navigate through uncharted waters at this time in bringing services back to our community,” County Librarian Raman Bath said in a statement. “We ask that you call your local branches for more service details, please adhere to social distancing practice thoroughly and take all precautions to protect yourself from the COVID-19 virus.”
Fresno County shuttered its libraries on March 17 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It was the first suspended county service, followed by parks.
Fresno County reported 1, 074 positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday and 13 deaths.
Library patrons who reserve materials can pick up their materials at a designated time and place outside of local branches.
A schedule of all open branches and the new hours of operation will be posted on FCPL’s website, fresnolibrary.org. The Fresno County Public Library’s 24/7 online services remain unchanged and available.
