Fresno County’s total COVID-19 cases approaching 1,000. Sixty new cases reported Monday
Fresno County health officials on Monday reported an increase of 60 cases of coronavirus infections since Saturday, bringing the total number to 945.
No new deaths were announced as the the number of COVID-19-related deaths remains at nine.
Of the 945 cases, 386 were from close contact, 371 from community spread, 144 are under investigation and 44 are related to travel.
Fresno County still leads the rest of the central San Joaquin Valley with total number or recoveries. Monday’s update showed six more people recovered, bringing the total of recoveries to 319
Active cases stood at 617 and 132 people were hospitalized as of Monday.
Kings County had an increase 32 cases of coronavirus infections as of Monday afternoon, bringing the total number to 319. No new deaths were announced.
Thirteen more recoveries were also announced bringing the total to 63 recovered.
In other area Valley counties:
Tulare County had 50 deaths, with two new fatalities reported Monday. The county had 1,159 positive cases; another 969 people were in self-quarantine and being monitored by health officials. The county also had 171 people who have recovered.
Kings County jumped to 319 total positive cases as of midday Monday. One person has died and 63 have recovered.
Mariposa County stands at 15 cases total. A dozen of those cases have recovered.
Merced County was at 173 cases total as of an update Monday. Three people have died and 99 have recovered.
Madera County had a total of 67 cases as of Sunday. Two people have died and 40 have recovered.
