Woman killed in hit and run in central Fresno
A woman trying to cross a street was killed in a hit-and-run Wednesday night in central Fresno, police said.
She was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Sokhim Reed, 39, of Fresno.
According to Lt. Tim Tietjen, around 9:30 p.m. Reed was attempting to cross Olive Avenue near Fisher Street when a white, four-door vehicle hit her in the middle of the street.
Tietjen said witnesses described the vehicle as a Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger.
Investigators were talking to people in the neighborhood and searching for video to help them identify the vehicle, which left the scene shortly after the collision.
It is unclear if Reed was jaywalking.
She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
