Coronavirus cases rise in Tulare County, but no additional deaths
No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Tulare County on Sunday, though the total number of cases rose to 504, an increase of 13 from the previous day.
The county saw four additional people die from the coronavirus in its Saturday update, when 19 new cases were added. The number of COVID-19 deaths in the county stands at 32, highest in the six-county central San Joaquin Valley region.
Tammie Weyker-Adkins, public information officer for the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency, said there are 566 people in self quarantine who are being monitored by county health officials.
There are 94 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the county.
The Tulare County Public Health lab has so far handled 2,203 COVID-19 tests, with 1,898 coming from Tulare County and 305 from other counties.
Other counties in the region that provided updates Sunday were mostly unchanged.
Kings County remained at 52 cases, with nine people having recovered and one death. The total tests conducted and reported rose from 993 on Saturday to 1,109.
Merced County confirmed three more cases as of its Sunday afternoon update to bring its total to 105, with 61 people having recovered and three deaths.
Madera County reported one additional case for a total of 41, still with 27 having recovered and two having died.
Fresno (458 cases, seven deaths) and Mariposa (zero cases among 104 tests) counties had yet to update their numbers.
