Merced woman walking on Highway 140 struck by 2 cars and dies. Investigation continues
A 39-year-old woman was struck by two cars and killed on Highway 140 this week, according to Merced police.
The woman was pushing a shopping car in the roadway about 9:48 p.m. Tuesday on the highway near Santa Fe Avenue before being struck by a 1997 GMC SUV and a 2008 Toyota Scion XD, police said.
The GMC was westbound and the Toyota was traveling in the opposite direction when each hit the pedestrian. Both drivers remained on scene and cooperated with police.
No one has been arrested related to the crash.
