Fresno County deputies save man from choking on Easter meal
Three Fresno County deputies teamed up to save a Kerman-area man who was choking on his Easter Sunday dinner.
An afternoon call came in from someone saying they had a family member choking on a piece of meat, according to Fresno County Sheriff’s spokesperson Tony Botti. The 44-year-old was turning blue and eventually unconscious.
Deputies arrived at a home near Kerman in Alkali Flats. The officers began to perform the Heimlich maneuver and were able to get the man to cough up the food and clear his airway.
A medical crew treated the man and he is now recovering, Botti said.
The Sheriff’s Office provided a photo of the deputies and the man they helped, though their names were not immediately available.
