Two crashes on rain-slickened streets in Fresno including one that sent SUV into flower shop

Police were investigating two crashes, including one involving three vehicles with injuries, Monday morning in Fresno.

A pickup, a car and an SUV was involved in the first incident, which occurred some time before 6 a.m. on North Belmont Avenue and East Cedar Avenue. The department’s Crime Scene Investigation unit was following up on the cause.

The second incident took place in the Tower District, where the driver of an SUV, who was northbound on Van Ness Avenue, hit a tree, a stop sign and then careened into a flower shop at East Floradora Avenue. The woman was being interviewed at the scene by officers.
