Four people were killed and two more suffered major injuries early Friday in a head-on collision on Millerton Road near Friant, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. and the CHP said while neither alcohol nor drugs were immediately suspected as a cause of the crash, toxicology tests will help assess what took place. Those tests usually take about a month.

Wood died at the scene. Vang suffered major injuries as did passenger Nao Y. Moua, 50. Three women from Fresno in the back of the Camry were killed at the scene. They were identified as Mai Yang, 74; Koua Vang Xiong, 54: and Shor Xiong, 60. All parties were wearing seatbelts.
