Fresno bomb squad uses robot on suspicious device near Fresno airport

A suspicious device found in a storage locker near Fresno Yosemite International airport on Wednesday has been determined to be harmless, according to a Fresno Police Department spokesman.

Officers were called out before noon when employees found the device as they cleaned out a storage locker at a facility on Anderson and Winery avenues, Sgt. Jeff La Blue said.

Just before 2:30 p.m. bomb squad members used their robot to determine the device was not an explosive, according to police.

No one was injured and the incident did not close down any roads. Airport police were informed but the incident did not affect the airport, according to La Blue.
