A possible case of a DUI in Fresno, cops say. Man flips car, crashes into other vehicle

A driver suffered major injuries after his car landed on its roof on the side of Highway 180 on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 7:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man traveling at a high speed in in an Acura Integra lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle on westbound 180, just east of Brawley Avenue.

CHP believe the man was driving under the influence of alcohol, spokesman Mike Salas said.

The driver also may have been ejected from not using a seat belt.

The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The driver and passengers of the other vehicle that was hit sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene, Salas added.

The roadway was blocked for approximately one hour during the investigation.
