First responders use CPR to bring back pulse of man hit by vehicle in Fresno
First responders were able to revive a man who was hit by a vehicle while running across the road Thursday evening in Fresno, according to police.
The 58-year-old man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and listed in critical condition, said Lt. Bill Dooley. He was running across the Weldon Avenue and Fresno Street intersection around 7:30 p.m. when a vehicle heading north hit him.
The man had no pulse and was not breathing when firefighters and American Ambulance crews arrived, Dooley said, but after CPR, his pulse returned.
The driver is cooperating with police. He was not driving under the influence and is licensed, Dooley said.
