Four people displaced after northwest Fresno house fire
Four people are displaced after a fire tore through their home in northwest Fresno on Sunday afternoon.
According to Fresno Fire Department Capt. Chris Garcia, crews responded to the home on Wishon Court, across Shaw Avenue from Fig Garden Village, around 1 p.m. Crews arrived and found the home had smoke coming from the attic.
Crews were able to knock down the blaze. Garcia said the fire was ignited by barbecue ashes left on the side of the home.
The fire spread from outside through the eaves of the home and made it inside into the living space. The blaze caused an estimated $200,000 in damages, Garcia said.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
