Clovis woman dies in collision with truck northeast of Clovis

The 50-year-old driver of a Jeep Renegade was killed Monday morning in a collision with a Ford pickup on Highway 168 northeast of Clovis, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. as the woman was driving on Academy Oaks Lane when she came to a stop at the entrance to 168, and then attempted a left turn onto the highway, according to the CHP. She apparently did not see the eastboound F-350, and the driver of the pickup was unable to make evasive measures. He slammed into the driver’s door of the Jeep. The woman was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, but did not survive. The 62-year-old Ford driver, of Tollhouse, sustained minor injuries.
