Woman walked into traffic late Friday in Visalia. She died Monday of her injuries

A 30-year-old Visalia woman who was struck by a car in north Visalia late Friday night died Monday of her injuries.

Visalia police said that Desiree Alonzo was walking on Dinuba Boulevard north of Ferguson Avenue at about 10 p.m. Friday when she apparently stepped out into traffic and was struck by a car that was heading south on Dinuba Boulevard.

Alonzo was taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, but died Monday.

The driver who struck Alonzo, identified by police as Devin Warren, 30, of Visalia, was determined to not be at fault for the incident and won’t face any charges, a police spokesman said.
