Spinout on Highway 41 kills one in Madera County, CHP says

A fiery three-vehicle crash left one person dead on Highway 41 in Madera County on Sunday.

The driver of a red Chevrolet Malibu was driving north around 11:51 a.m. when it spun out, striking two southbound cars, according to Sgt. Corben Whitney of the California Highway Patrol. It happened just north of Road 208 near the 22 Mile House gas station.

The driver was killed and the three other people involved had minor to moderate injuries, CHP said. The name of the person who died is not being released pending notification of family.

It was raining at the time, but CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash, Whitney said.
