The Carl’s Jr. fast food restaurant in Sanger caught on fire Wednesday night.

A fan located at the top of the building and above the kitchen caused the small fire, damaging the roof and parts of the kitchen, according to Sanger Fire Chief Greg Tarascou.

The fire appeared to be accidental and no one was injured from the incident, Tarascou added.

Firefighters arrived at the restaurant near the intersection of Bethel and Jensen avenues soon after the fire started around 9 p.m.

A witness told firefighters flames were coming out of the building, though only smoke was observed by the time crews arrived.

Carl’s Jr. was closed for the remainder of the night after the fire was put out, a manager at the store confirmed by telephone.

He added that employees were working late into the night to try to clean the restaurant and reopen by Thursday morning.
