Sheriff’s investigate homicide in west Fresno after finding man injured near road
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a homicide in west Fresno Wednesday night.
According to Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti, at about 5:50 p.m. deputies received a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 3100 block of West McKinley Avenue.
Deputies arrived and found a man with injuries off the shoulder of the road. The officers began to perform CPR on the victim but he died at the scene.
Botti said Sheriff’s are not reporting how the victim was killed, but a witness said they heard shots fired in the area.
Detectives will have McKinley Avenue closed off from Lead Avenue to Valentine Avenue as they investigate.
