Southeast Fresno shooting sends one man to hospital. Was it a robbery gone bad?
Police are tying to piece together what led to a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Monday night.
Officers responded to a 911 at a Circle K on Peach and Hedges avenues just after 9 p.m. and found a 32-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition, according Lt. Charlie Chamalbide of the Fresno Police Department..
According to witness, the victim had been shot at another location and ran to the store.
Police are investigating whether the shooting was related to a robbery that happened in the area around the same time, Chamalbide said.
In that incident, two people were approached and robbed at gun point. Other witnesses said there was a party at an apartment complex where the victims is believed to live, Chamalbide said.
The victim was not cooperating and would not give police his name.
“Because he’s not cooperating, we’re not sure if he’s the victim of a robbery also,” Chamalbide said.
