Garage fire in central Fresno extinguished within minutes

A structure fire at 1259 North Palm Ave. was put out within 10 minutes of receiving the emergency call Friday night, said Fresno Fire Capt. Justin McDonald.

A detached garage behind the residence on Palm Ave. caught on fire around 8:18 p.m., McDonald said, and by 8:22 p.m. firefighters arrived. The flames were extinguished within six minutes of arrival, and no residents were injured or evacuated.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
