After blazing hot weekend, high temperatures back to normal by Monday
A high-pressure system over California will cause unusually hot temperatures for Fresno this weekend, said Jim Bagnall of the National Weather Service office in Hanford.
Saturday will have the hottest temperatures of the weekend, Bagnall said, with a forecast high of 98 degrees and an overnight low of 62. The record temperature for May 30 is the 109-degree mark set in 1910.
The high for Sunday is expected to be 96 degrees, with a low of 59.
Bagnall said a cooling trend, spurred by a storm system off the West Coast, will begin Sunday evening.
Monday’s temperatures will return to normal for early June at 88 degrees.
