Deputies arrested a 27-year-old man in Squaw Valley on suspicion of burglary after he ran from authorities and holed-up inside an abandoned trailer home.

Fresno County sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Frank Rodrigues was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of 11 felony counts, including vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and being a felon in possession of a gun. Botti said Rodrigues is under post-release community supervision.

Rodrigues’ girlfriend, Renee Ash, 24, was also arrested on suspicion of one felony count of possessing a stolen vehicle. Ash has since bailed out of jail.

Detectives received information that Rodrigues was storing property from recent burglaries at a home on the 39500 block of Clover Lane in Squaw Valley. During a search of the home, detectives found two stolen guns and a marijuana garden with around 150 plants.

Information obtained at Clover Lane led detectives to another address, 37500 block of Shadybrook Lane, where they found two vehicles that were stolen during a home burglary. Detectives then received a report of a suspicious vehicle, which they found parked at a home on the 47100 block of Sassafras Lane.

Deputies said they saw Rodrigues run and after a search of the area — which included the help of K-9 units and a sheriff’s office helicopter — Rodrigues was found hiding inside an abandoned trailer home.

Botti said detectives also found a third stolen vehicle in the area associated to Rodrigues.

Anyone with information about Rodrigues or Ash is asked to the call the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
