Man with knife steals beer from Visalia gas station

Visalia police are looking for a man who allegedly stole an 18-pack of beer Tuesday night from Flyers Gas Station at Cypress and Akers avenues.

The man entered the store near Central Valley Christian School about 8 p.m. and got the beer from the cooler aisle. He pulled a knife on the store clerk, then ran out to a vehicle and took off without paying. The store employee was unharmed.

It was second reported knifepoint beer robbery in Visalia in a week: an underage boy and girl were arrested May 21 for allegedly trying unsuccessfully to steal beer from another gas station.

No arrests have been made in Tuesday’s robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call Visalia Police Department at (559) 734-8117.
