2 critical in west Fresno County single-car collision

Two 19-year-old men suffered major injuries late Monday night after their car tumbled multiple times in rural west Fresno County, the CHP reported.

The accident happened about 11:30 p.m. as a 2004 Infinity was heading west on Colorado Avenue west of Highway 145 near Helm at high speeds. The driver lost control of the Infinity, which rolled over several times.

Both the driver, identified as Jesus Juarez, of San Joaquin, and the passenger — whose identity was not released — were thrown from the vehicle. Both were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center and were listed in critical condition. Neither victim was wearing a seat belts, the CHP said.

Colorado Avenue was closed for several hours following the collision, which remains under investigation.
