‘Santa to a Senior’ begins 15th year
“Be a Santa to a Senior” donation boxes are once again available around the central San Joaquin Valley. Each box has a list of suggested gifts for a senior and gifts can be dropped off at the same location.
The program is in its 15th year, and has helped over 1,700 local seniors not feel lonely during the holidays, according to spokeswoman Francesca Weems.

Lindsay Unified receives Bush grant
The Lindsay Unified School District was awarded a $900,000 grant from the Bush Foundation to support learner-centered schools, the district announced.
Barry Sommer, the director of advancement for the district, will lead a team comprised of learners, site leaders, support staff, parents and board members to support K12 schools in North Dakota and Minnesota.
