Victim rescued from burning southeast Fresno home
Fresno firefighters rescued a person from a burning house in southeast Fresno on Tuesday morning after learning that the victim was unconscious near were flames erupted, said a Fresno fire spokesman.
Battalion Chief Randy Reitz said firefighters arriving at North Maple and East Jackson avenues about 10 a.m. learned that one of the occupants was still inside the burning structure.
The crew quickly went into rescue mode and found the victim, whose identity and gender were not immediately released, in a room where the fire originated. The victim was unconscious and not breathing, and the firefighters initiated a resuscitation effort. The victim was rushed to a hospital.
The cause of the blaze and the amount of damage is under investigation.
