Here is a listing of upcoming events to mark Veterans Day:
Saturday, Nov. 10
Lemoore run/walk
Veterans Day 5K run and 3K walk begins at 8 a.m. at Lions Park, 852 Fox St. in Lemoore. Register from 7-7:45 a.m., all participants will receive a medal when crossing the finish line. 559-924-6767. $25-$30.
Visalia Parade
Annual Visalia Veterans Day Parade will be held at 10 a.m. west on Main Street.
Sunday, Nov. 11
Clovis Veterans Memorial District
A pancake breakfast will be held 7 to 11 a.m. at 808 Fourth St., $7; live music, a car show and children’s activites will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; “Remembering Our Fallen” photographic war memorial exhibit and veterans memorabilia exhibit; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. veterans film festival; 11 a.m. a patriotic concert performed by the Clovis Community Band; 6 p.m. Veterans Day dinner and program. (Note: The original version of this listing incorrectly reported that the Clovis events would be on Saturday.)
Lemoore Parade
American Legion Lemoore Post 100 annual Veterans Day Parade and recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam Ward. The parade will be held at 6 p.m. in downtown Lemoore.
Merced Parade
An opening ceremony begins at noon at Bob Hart Square downtown. The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Main Street. 209-385-7588.
Monday, Nov. 12
Fresno Veterans Day Parade
Speakers begin at 10:15 a.m. in front of City Hall, 2600 Fresno St. The parade kicks off at 11:11 a.m. and the route will travel west on Fresno Street, south on M Street and west on Tulare Street where it will end near Chukchansi Park.
Hubbard-Baro Memorial Golf Tournament
A flag salute will be held at 10:15 a.m. and shotgun start begins at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Washington Golf & Country Club, 10272 N. Millbrook Ave. Registration costs $175 and includes dinner. All proceeds will be donated to the VA Hospital. www.hubbardbarogolf.com.
Porterville run and parade
Veterans Day run begins at 7:30 a.m. downtown. Parade begins at 9 a.m. at the corner of Morton Avenue and Main Street and ends at Main and Walnut Avenue. A moment of silence will be observed at 11 a.m. www.ci.porterville.ca.us/depts/ParksandLeisure/vetsrun.cfm.
