Kings County Superior Court swears in new judge
Randy L. Edwards, 65, of Hanford, was sworn in Friday as the newest judge of the Kings County Superior Court, the court staff said Friday.
Edwards was appointed to fill a vacancy Oct. 26. He replaces Judge Thomas DeSantos, who earlier this year was appointed as an associate justice of the 5th District Court of Appeal.
Edwards had been a partner at Griswold, LaSalle, Cobb, Dowd and Gin in Hanford since 1995, and was an associate from 1991 to 1995.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty as a judge advocate from 1982 to 1991 and as an unrestricted line officer from 1975 to 1979.
He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a lieutenant colonel in 1998.
He earned a law degree from the McGeorge School of Law, a master of arts degree from Pepperdine University and a bachelor of arts degree from Colorado State University.
Edwards is registered to vote with no party preference.
