Man dead in Madera after being hit by a freight train
A man died Thursday after being hit by a freight train, Madera police said.
About 12:10 p.m., police were called to the railroad tracks near 9th Street and Gateway Drive about a train-versus-pedestrian collision.
Officers found a man in his late 30s who had been hit by a southbound train. His name is not being made public pending positive identification and notification of family.
