Hiker found dead after 40-foot fall over cliff
A hiker was found dead in the Sierra National Forest on Friday after falling off a 40-foot cliff, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office
The man’s body was found by a group of hikers in the area of Lake Italy, Lt. Frances Devins said. The High Sierra lake is northeast of Huntington Lake.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter crew assisted a ground crew in retrieving the man’s body on Saturday morning, the CHP said.
Devins did not provide information on the identity of the man.
