Some lunch patrons got a treat Monday at Texas Roadhouse: Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims was their server.

It was part of the Sheriff’s Office’s annual Tip-A-Cop event. Mims and others from the Sheriff’s Office stepped in to serve drinks and food.

Texas Roadhouse covered the tab, and customers were encouraged to make a donation to help send Special Olympians to their competitions at no charge. The annual event also allows deputies to meet people in the community face-to-face.
