Man killed in Clovis crash Saturday
A Fresno man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Clovis early Saturday.
California Highway Patrol said the man, who was not named pending notification of his family, was driving southbound on DeWolf Avenue north of Shepherd Avenue around 2:20 a.m. at an unknown speed when he lost control of his 1989 Honda on a curve and drove through a barbed wire fence.
The man was thrown from his vehicle onto Shepherd Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Blaine Thomas, 23, of Fresno had moderate injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
CHP said it’s not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
