Center for the developmentally disabled opens in Fresno
The Arc Fresno/Madera Counties opened The Arc Loewen Achievement Center for developmentally disabled patients in east-central Fresno on Tuesday.
The new center is located at 4490 E. Ashlan Ave. The 15,000 square foot facility was named after Carl Loewen, a longtime supporter and board member of The Arc.
The Arc serves more than 650 people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Madera and Fresno counties with a staff 185 professionals. It was formed in 1953 to improve quality of life and provide training for the developmentally disabled.
