A woman was taken to the hospital Friday night after being hit by a car in northeast Fresno, according to Fresno police Lt. Jennifer Horsford.

The woman was walking north on Cedar Avenue and was hit as she crossed Herndon Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Police found her in the roadway and she was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The woman’s name and age was not released.

The driver of the car remained and the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, Horsford said.
