Three Valley congressmen were on board a chartered train of GOP lawmakers when it struck a garbage truck south of Charlottesville, Virginia, on Wednesday.

Local media outlets, including KSEE 24, reported that Reps. Devin Nunes, R-Tulare, and David Valadao, R-Hanford, were on the train. The Modesto Bee reported that Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, was also onboard.

News reports said that no lawmakers were believed to be injured, but at least one died in the vehicle and another was seriously injured.

Anna Vetter, spokeswoman for Valadao, said Wednesday that the congressman was “OK and asks for prayers for those injured in the vehicle that was hit.”

The congressmen were on their way to a retreat in West Virginia.
