Hanford Harley rider killed in crash on 198 identified
A Hanford man killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night was identified Monday by the Kings County Coroner as Rene Hernandez, 58.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Hernandez was westbound on Highway 198 when he took the exit for Highway 43, lost control of the 2016 Harley Davidson and was ejected, as was his passenger, Terry Cardona, 55, also of Hanford. Moments after the crash, Hernandez was struck by a 2008 Honda driven by Angelica Torres, 44, of Visalia. Hernandez died at the scene. Cardona sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Adventist Medical Center. Torres was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
