Fresno County Library to offer teen parenting workshops

The Fresno County Public Library will hold 10 workshops aimed at helping new and future teenage mothers succeed as adults and parents beginning Sunday at its Politi Branch Library .

The classes will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on alternating Sundays until May 31. Free childcare and snacks will be offered at the library branch, located at 5771 North First St. Potential attendees are asked to register by calling (559) 431-6450.

Community specialists will counsel mothers on providing good nutrition, managing money, exploring housing options, finishing school, preparing for life in the workforce and finding the resources necessary to take care of themselves while providing quality childcare.

Funding for the workshops was provided by the Library Services and Technology Act.
