Gas line break shuts down parts of Shaw Avenue in Clovis
A ruptured gas line in Clovis forced the closure of portions of Shaw Avenue Wednesday, and PG&E officials worked to shut down the leaking gas.
Clovis police spokesman Ty Wood said the gas leak forced detours on eastbound Shaw from Villa Avenue through Minnewawa Avenue, and on westbound Shaw from Clovis Avenue through Minnewawa.
PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles said a three-quarter-inch line, which did not show up on gas line maps, was severed by a worker.
Officials did not have a definite time as to when the roadway would reopen.
