The Valley is experiencing dense fog Monday morning. About 8 a.m., visibility for many drivers was no more than a quarter mile.

At around 8 a.m., fog became increasingly dense with a visibility of, at most, a quarter mile.

Fresno is at what the National Weather Service calls level 4 advisory, meaning visibility of 200 to 800 feet and the average vehicle speed is 25 mph.

The fog is widespread, the weather service said, and is expected to burn off about 11 a.m.

The weather service’s recommendations for drivers:

  • Slow down.
  • Use low-beam headlights.
  • Keep plenty of distance between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate travel delays.
