Scooter rider seriously injured in Fresno hit-and-run
A woman riding a motor scooter was rushed to a hospital early Wednesday after a major injury hit and run collision in northeast Fresno.
The crash happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. at Blackstone and Bullard avenues. Police Capt. Burke Farrah said the suspect vehicle left the crash scene, heading south on Highway 41. The vehicle, described as a white sedan, has major damage to its front, Farrah said.
Police initially reported that the crash involved a motorcycle, but a closer look by collision reconstruction officers in daylight determined that the vehicle was a scooter.
Farrah said the intersection of Blackstone and Bullard was to be closed for several hours while the crash was investigated.
