Dead woman found in California Aqueduct was from Mendota
A 27-year-old from Mendota was identified as the woman whose body was found floating Wednesday in the California Aqueduct southwest of Fresno County.
Cause of death for Anahi Arias remains unknown, so the case continued Friday to be considered suspicious by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Her body was discovered just before 10 a.m. Wednesday by workers in the Cantua Creek area, near Davis and San Mateo avenues.
