Two-alarm fire in central Fresno leaves commercial building a total loss
A two-alarm fire in central Fresno left a 5,000-square foot commercial building destroyed Monday night, said Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Kirk Wanless.
Firefighters responded around 6 p.m. to First Street between Shaw and Gettysburg avenues, where about one-third of the building was on fire. The structure was a total loss, Wanless said.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation, he said. Nearly 40 firefighters were called to the blaze.
The building housed a dental office and some other business, said Fire Department spokesman Hector Vasquez.
