What’s out of whack at Clovis/Herndon intersection? It started with a water main
A water main break on a busy intersection in Clovis on Friday has caused a partial sinkhole, road closures and traffic delays, the Clovis Police Department said.
The water main broke Friday morning at the intersection of Herndon and Clovis avenues, spilling water onto the street and stalling traffic.
Police say a partial sinkhole opened up on the north side of the intersection.
As of Saturday morning, the intersection is being controlled by red flashing lights, making it a four-way stop.
Saturday afternoon, Clovis police announced that repair crews are working non-stop but, citing information from the city’s public utilities department, work won’t be completed until Wednesday at the earliest.
