Motorcyclist dies after being broadsided in Madera
A Fresno man died Saturday evening after he drove his motorcycle into an intersection and was hit by a car in Madera, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 35-year-old man, who was riding a Kawasaki, had stopped at the stop sign at Avenue 15 where it intersects with Highway 41, the CHP said. A 78-year-old Coarsegold woman was driving her Lexus south on Highway 41 when the man drove into the intersection, failing to yield, and was broadsided. The crash happened just after 5 p.m.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released, pending notification of family. The woman in the Lexus was not injured.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, the CHP said.
