Youth organizations receive grants
The Central Valley Community Foundation, in partnership with the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Anthem, awarded seven community organizations over $500,000 to continue their youth development initiatives that focus on health services and educational programs in the central San Joaquin Valley. The recipients are: Teen Success Inc.; The Foundation of FCOE; California State University, Fresno Foundation; Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County; The Latino Commission – Nuevo Comienzo; Woodlake High School; and UCSF Medical Education Program.
Break the Barriers receives donation
The Save Mart CARES Foundation is donating $10,000 to Break the Barriers during a Saturday afternoon ceremony at the facility, 8555 N. Cedar Ave. Break the Barriers supports veterans through fitness, training, travel and competition in various sporting events.
The Mike Hernandez archery tournament, which promotes inclusion, will be part of Saturday’s event.
Republican Party to meet
The Fresno County Republican Party will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at DerManouel Insurance, 548 W. Cromwell Ave. Matthew Martin, of Kern County Young Republicans, will speak on using social media to your best advantage.
Festival of Trees
St. Anthony Retreat and Santa Teresita Youth Conference Center are hosting a tree auction fundraiser at 5 p.m. Thursday to benefit nonprofits, schools and churches in Three Rivers. Food, beer and wine will be available. Tickets are $25. A free preview will be held 3-6 p.m. Wednesday.

Sanger Woman’s Club fundraiser
The Sanger Woman’s Club will hold its annual fundraiser, “A Dickens of a Christmas,” at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at Kings River Winery, 4276 S. Greenwood Ave. in Sanger. The event will take attendees back to the 19th century streets of London and includes live and silent auctions, dinner and drinks. Tickets cost $75 and proceeds will benefit the club’s 17 $1,000 scholarships awarded to Sanger High School graduates.

Toys for Tots drop-off
Rabobank N.A. and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program will accept new and unwrapped toys for local children in need now through Dec. 15 at two local branches: 45 E. River Park Place West, Suite 108 and 1003 I St. in Reedley.
Wine tasting to benefit veterans
Vino for Veterans will be held noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Kings River Winery, 4276 S. Greenwood Ave. in Sanger and includes wine tasting, music and guest speakers. Tickets cost $10 and proceeds will benefit American Legion Post 509.
