One of the nation’s coolest meteorologists is right here in Fresno
Fresno doesn’t often get put on lists for good things, so when it does we’re just going to toot our horn real loud, OK?
This time around The Washington Post turned its sights to Fresno, tuning in to KSEE during its weather segment.
The news station’s chief meteorologist A.J. Fox made WaPo’s list of the nation’s seven coolest TV meteorologists.
A.J. Fox has been on air in Fresno for nearly three decades, starting at the age of 19 at a radio station reporting on traffic. He found his calling as a weatherman when he filled in for a meteorologist who called in sick on the local NBC affiliate, WaPo reported.
Perhaps Fox earned his “cool” title for his life outside of work, where he plays in two bands, Los Hooligans and Fat Penguins. Los Hooligans, a ska band, has shared the stage with major names such as the Wailers, the Skatalites and No Doubt.
Fox thanked the newspaper and reporter for the shout-out on Facebook.
