Overdue hiker found in Kings Canyon National Park
A Colorado hiker previously reported missing in Kings Canyon National Park was accounted for Tuesday morning.
Joseph Patrick Leap, 37, of Lakewood, Colo. set out on a solo day hike from Cedar Grove on Sunday. He planned to hike from Roads End to Mist Falls and Paradise Valley. He was set to return to Roads End, where he left his car, the same day.
Leap was described as an experienced hiker but was unfamiliar with the area, park officials said.
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park search-and-rescue teams conducted a ground and aerial search for Leap.
No additional information was immediately available.
