A woman died when her car crashed into a ditch. Police are looking for answers
Corcoran police are investigating an early-morning crash that left one woman dead after the vehicle became submerged in an irrigation ditch, police reported.
Police responded to a crash in the 400 block of Whitley Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police said in a news release.
They found a vehicle struck a guard rail on the south side of a bridge crossing an irrigation ditch. The vehicle was partially submerged in the ditch.
The driver, Danielle Leon, suffered fatal injuries from the collision. She was the only person in the car, police said. Information on where Leon was from and her age were not available.
The crash remains under investigation.
