A pile of wood pallets and plastic is burning at Blast Tech in east-central Fresno, sending a large black plume of smoke skyward.

Fresno firefighters are on scene at 1421 N. Whitney Ave. working to put out the flames, Fresno Fire Department spokesman Hector Vasquez said.
